The Batwa's Experience


These Normadic gatherers acknowledged to have been the first hand resident of the forest area in the Great Lakes Region. With other ethnic group around cutting trees to provide land for crops and livestocks, Batwa population became fragment but at least there was enough woodland for their environmentally sustainable way of life to endure.

      Kampala,centred on a series of swamp-fringed lakes known

      this lake harbours dense populations of Zebras, Warthogs, Buffaloes
      Impalas and the Elands(largest African Antelope).

Trip Itinerary

DAY 1:
Early morning a trip brief followed by drive from Kampala to Kabale crossing the two hemisphere while on ground at the Equator (zero degree latitude) then the afternoon a visit to the oldest cathedral in the Great Lakes Region,the Rushoroza. Meals and O/N- Kabale Town 
DAY 2:
A brief about the area and it’s inhabitants followed by a cultural tour /walk. A trail through the lowest slopes of Virunga mountain ranges for which the Batwa have a stake on the conservation and management of the National Park even though they still live outside it. Meals O/N Kabale Town.
DAY 3:
Hiking on one of the Kabale hills, sometimes known as Switzerland of Africa, an opportunity to see the crater lake – lake Bunyonyi. Rest in the afternoon then shopping around Kabale Town: Meals and O/N Kabale Town.
DAY 4:
Enroute to Kampala, game viewing in the lake Mburo National Park, Continuing with the Journey to Kampala/Entebbe for O/N Entebbe.
DAY 5:
City tour of Kampala before you catch your flight in the evening.
