Home to Batoro/Banyoro, the remnant of the  ancient  Chwezi dynasty known as Demi Gods due to their supernatural powers. The word Chwezi comes from the German’s word” Schwarz “ which means “ black people”
This region is among the four (4) traditional kingdoms within the Uganda boundaries founded as early as 1822 when "KABOYO the eldest son of the Banyoro king rebelled and established his own kingdom”
It was incorporated  back into Bunyoro/ Kitara in 1876 and  reasserted  it’s independent in 1891.  King Oyo Rukidi IV is the current King crowned in July 11th 1995, as the youngest ever King at the age of 3 years. His great  great grandfather DAUDI KYEBAMBE was the first modern  day Toro king crowned  in 1967.

  • Kibale National Forest.This evergreen and semi-decidous forest host the dense populations of Chimpanzee which have been habituated for trekking; as well as readily observes species of primates and large mammals like Elephants.

Trip Itinerary

DAY I:
After arrival  at Entebbe International Airport for an O/N  you will then be transfered from Kampala /Entebbe to Fort portal  the next morning after a trip briefing.  Rest, meals and O/N Fort Portal town.

DAY 2:
Early morning , a visit to the Toro Palace then the Karambi Tombs, the burial grounds for the Toro kings. Lunch and short break then visit the  Amabere Gya Nyinamwiru till evening.  Meals and O/N Fort Portal town.

DAY 3:
Hiking at the Toro Hill in the morning while at the top  is great view of the three crater  lakes, Saka and Kigere also an idealspot for  photographing.  Descending for lunch and afternoon break, if necessary  Fort Portal town trip /tour. Meals/ON Fort Portal town.

DAY 4:
Travelling to the Kibale National Forest for chimpanzee Trekking, a full day adventure with these man’s closest cousins. Meals and O/N Fort Portal town.

DAY 5:
A cultural visit to BIGODI; to interact with the local people.  Option for fishing and game viewing  at the wetland as well as birds/butterflies watching, meals O/N Fort Portal town.

DAY 6:
Early drive to Kampala/Entebbe to catch your flight back home.
